

A Level:
General Paper (GP) & Literature
Our classes focus on giving each student individual attention and personalised feedback.
Since the classes are kept very small (maximum 4 students), each student receives practices selected by the tutor based on the tutor’s assessment of the student’s needs.

Joelle has a master’s in literature and arts from the University of Oxford.
Since 2021, she has taught A level General Paper and Literature to students from various junior colleges including RI (JC), HCI, VJC, NYJC.
Paper 1 (Writing):
Having published various papers in the Oxford University Journal, Joelle also coaches students in academic writing, such as critical reasoning, analytical thinking, and argumentation.
Paper 2 (Application Question):
Students will build up content knowledge on local case studies, and practice evaluating the author’s claim and its applicability to Singapore’s context
Paper 1 (Content):
Students will build up content knowledge on issues of local interest and global concern, such as historical, social, cultural, economic, political and philosophical topics.
Paper 2 (reading comprehension):
Students will practice and receive guidance on all the reading comprehension question types such as literal comprehension, vocabulary, inference, language use, etc.
Essay Writing for scholarship application and university application
As a recipient of an MOE Overseas scholarship, Joelle also coaches students on essay writing and interview skills, such as the writing of UCAS applications and the interviews for PSC scholarships. Her students have secured places at top local and international universities.
