Our classes focus on giving each student individual attention and personalised feedback.
Since the classes are kept very small (maximum 4 students), each student receives practices selected by the tutor based on the tutor’s assessment of the student’s needs.

Paper 1: WRITING

Situational writing: addressing the TF (Task Fulfilment) by providing the necessary information and showing understanding of purpose, audience and context. Making use of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with a logical organisation of ideas

Continuous writing: development of narrative strategies, descriptive phrases, varied sentence structures, wide vocabulary, character and plot development, use of suspense, flashbacks and figurative language
Paper 3: LISTENING

DSA to secondary school:

While she was at National Junior College, Joelle was on the DSA interviewing panel, and personally interviewed many students applying to the Integrated Programme.

Now, she coaches other students on preparing application portfolios, writing personal statements, and interview skills. Her students have received offers at schools like RI, HCI, ACS (I), MGS, SST, amongst others.
Paper 2: READING

MCQ grammar cloze, editing, cloze comprehension, synthesis and transformation, reading comprehension

phrasing answers to address keywords in the question

Paper 4: ORAL

reading aloud: use of appropriate phrasing, pauses, variation of pitch, expressiveness, accurate pronunciation

Stimulus-based conversation: techniques for addressing the different question types, developing personal opinions, elaborating on responses
Writing & Speaking Competitions:

Joelle also tutors students various national and international writing and speaking competitions. She always encourages her students to participate in these to build up their portfolios and aid in their DSA and scholarship applications.
